"It's sad that Robert has chosen to quit.

In the last two years he has done an enormous amount of work together with Caroline to take the team to the Damallsvenskan and he has been very much appreciated by the players.

I want to thank Robert for everything he has done and is doing for the club ", says AIK Football's sports manager Anne Mäkinen to the club's website.

The 35-year-old was assistant coach for AIK's women's team in 2016 and 2017. After a year of parental leave, he returned as a coach, then together with Sjöblom.

Under Lison Svanström's leadership, the team has only lost ten of 55 matches.
