This third day of the group stage of the Champions League, season 2020-2021, is a new soup to grimace for the three French clubs in the running.

After the

bankruptcy of the Marseillais on Tuesday in Porto (3-0)

, PSG and Stade Rennes also lost on Wednesday, in different circumstances.

Di Maria flinch, Nkunku remembers the good memory of a lame PSG

Faced with the injuries of Juan Bernat, Marco Verratti, Julian Draxler, Mauro Icardi and his jewels Kylian Mbappé and Neymar, PSG were very diminished when it came time to find RB Leipzig, the same club they beat in

half. final of the previous edition

of the Champions League in August.

The French champions still had ambitions, especially since earlier this Wednesday, Group H had been revived with the surprising defeat of Manchester United on the lawn of Istanbul Basaksehir (2-1).

And everything started well for the Parisians in the Red Bull Arena with the opening of the quick score of Angel Di Maria (6th), leader of an attack composed of Moïse Kean and Pablo Sarabia.

The Argentine had the opportunity to break from the penalty spot, after a hand from Dayot Upamecano.

But goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi repelled the attacker's shot (16th).

And just before the break, as is customary, a former Parisian scored against his ex-club.

Christopher Nkunku, trained at PSG, equalized with a shot entering the area (42nd).

After the break, the visitors appeared disunited, without cohesion in their rare attacks.

Presnel Kimpembe made a fault in his turn in the area, and despite the good dive from Keylor Navas, Emil Forsberg equalized from the penalty spot (57th).

Paris did not recover.

Worse, he finished the meeting nine after the expulsions of Idrissa Gueye (69th) and Presnel Kimpembe (90 + 5th).

A bad evening for PSG, and in particular for Thomas Tuchel, more and more discussed.

This is the first that the capital club have lost twice in the group stage since becoming the property of Qatar Sports Investments.

Chelsea mercilessly for Rennes, Barça grabs, Juventus and Dortmund shine

Stade Rennes, which is enjoying the Champions League for the first time this season, has learned that mistakes come at a high price at this level.

In Group E, the Bretons learned a lesson in England against Chelsea.

At the break, the Blues led 2-0, thanks to two "gifts" from the visitors.

Author of a fault, defender Henrique Dalbert took a yellow card and conceded a penalty, converted by Timo Werner (10th).

The Rennais then committed a hand in the area: second yellow card synonymous with expulsion, and second penalty scored by Werner (41st).

Too much reduced, Rennes gave in a third time at the start of the second period in front of Tammy Abraham (50th).

In the other main matches of the evening, Juventus (Group G) raised their heads after their loss to Barcelona on the previous day.

Reinforced by the return of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Old Lady shone in Hungary against Ferencvaros (4-1, double from Alvaro Morata, goal from Paulo Dybala and goal against his camp of Lasha Dvali).

Ivorian Franck Boli saved the honor of the home team in the dying seconds.

In the same group G, FC Barcelona consolidated its first place with a third success in three matches.

It was not perfect, but the Blaugrana beat Dynamo Kiev (2-1) thanks to a new goal signed by Lionel Messi from the penalty spot and an achievement by Gerard Pique.

Nice performance also signed by Borussia Dortmund, easy winner in Belgium from Bruges (3-0, goal from Thorgan Hazard and double from Erling Haaland, all in 18 minutes flat).
