Ugo Humbert, 34th player in the world, defeated N.6 at ATP Stefanos Tsitsipas on Tuesday evening at the Masters 1000 in Paris, in Bercy.
It took him 3:15 of a fierce fight in three sets and as many decisive games (7-6 (7/4), 6-7 (6/8), 7-6 (7/3)).
The 22-year-old tennis player has reached the round of 16 of the tournament.
This is the second victory of the Frenchman's career against a top 10 player. He had obtained his first against Daniil Medvedev, then world No. 5, in Hamburg at the end of September.
Humbert will face Marin Cilic, ex-World No. 3 today 43rd, for a place in the quarter-finals on Thursday.
