This came during the fifth meeting of the Board of Directors, which was held at the headquarters of the Council headed by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, with the participation of the Vice Chairman of the Council Mattar Al Tayer, and the members of the Board of Directors: Ali Bujisim, Ahmed Al Shafar, Dr.

Abdullah Al-Karam, Maryam Al-Hammadi, Moza Al-Marri, Secretary-General of the Council Saeed Hareb, and Assistant Secretary-General of the Council Nasser Aman Al Rahma.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed also reaffirmed the cooperation with training centers and academies that attract large numbers of amateurs in various sports, thus enhancing their role in spreading the practice of sport, promoting the health and happiness of sports practitioners and supporting the work sector.

In the meeting, the results of Resolution No. 5 of 2020 issued by His Highness the Chairman of the Council were reviewed, which stipulated the development and follow-up of administrative and supervisory cadres in clubs and sports companies in the Emirate of Dubai, and setting controls for the work of this important group in various clubs and sports companies, within the framework of developing national cadres and supporting them to succeed in performing Its administrative and supervisory role by attracting the best cadres according to the criteria set by the decision in a way that contributes to the integration of administrative and technical roles to achieve the desired development of the sports sector, and to make the environment for sports clubs and companies attractive at the sporting and societal levels.

The performance report of the Council, the events that were organized during the past period, and the events scheduled during the next period were also reviewed, as the performance report included organizing international and local sporting events in various sports, and the number of events organized during the Covid pandemic reached 90 events, 10 of which were international and 80 local, while it reached The number of upcoming events scheduled for the months of November and next December is 85 events, 13 of which are international and 72 local, and at the forefront of the events that will be organized in Dubai during the months of November and December: the Omega Dubai Moonlight Classic Women's Championship, Snow Challenge, Indian Cricket League Final IPL, Cycling Challenge, Al Marmoom Desert Running Race, Mountain Biking Championship in Hatta, Dubai Golf Championship, DP World Golf Championship, and Dubai International Sports Conference.

The Board of Directors reviewed the report of the Development and Future Committee, which included the model for sports excellence in its eighth session, which was designed in line with the developments in the sports sector and all areas of life and the scope of the council’s powers, as the new model will be applied during the current sports season and the winners in its categories will be honored in 2021. The eighth session of the model is launched to honor the performance of public and private sports institutions from the standpoint of the Dubai Council’s oversight of private sports institutions, the diversity of the scope and field of work of these institutions, the focus on business continuity, flexibility in dealing with crises, the ability to recover and continued performance.

According to the new model, honors will be distributed to the government sector: clubs and football companies, and their performance will be evaluated according to the model of sports excellence, as well as the private sector: academies, private clubs and fitness centers.

The meeting also reviewed the report of the investment and projects committee in the council on the plan to achieve self-sufficiency for Dubai football companies in accordance with current developments, and appropriate directives were taken in this regard.
