His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, affirmed the continuity of work to develop the sports sector commensurate with the position of sport in the movement of society, and strengthen the country's position in terms of hosting and organizing international sporting events, by launching new initiatives that are appropriate With the development taking place in all fields, and the vision of the wise leadership for the development of society, as well as the development of national cadres that undertake planning and implementation to achieve the desired national goals.

This came during the fifth meeting of the Board of Directors, which was held at the headquarters of the Council, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, and the participation of the Vice Chairman of the Council Mattar Al Tayer, and members of the Board of Directors: Ali Bujisim, Ahmed Al Shafar, Dr.

His Highness, the President of the Council, affirmed that the council will continue to organize international and local sporting events, and provide facilities for event organizers from international and local sports federations and organizations and the private sector, in a way that contributes to the spread of sport in various regions of Dubai, in accordance with the approved preventive measures and protocols for each sport, as well as welcoming the teams. And international teams wishing to set up training camps, compete in competitive tournaments in Dubai, take advantage of the excellent organizational environment, and provide the best safety and care standards for sports practitioners in the country.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed also reaffirmed cooperation with training centers and academies that attract large numbers of amateurs in various sports, which strengthens their role in spreading the practice of sport, enhancing the health and happiness of sports practitioners, and supporting the work sector.

In the meeting, the results of Resolution No. 5 of 2020, issued by His Highness the Chairman of the Council, were reviewed, and it stipulated the development and follow-up of the administrative and supervisory cadres in clubs and sports companies in the Emirate of Dubai, and setting controls for the work of this important group in various clubs and sports companies, within the framework of developing and supporting national cadres To succeed in performing its administrative and supervisory role by attracting the best cadres, according to the criteria specified by the decision, in a way that contributes to the integration of administrative and technical roles to achieve the desired development of the sports sector, and to make the environment of sports clubs and companies attractive at the sporting and societal levels.

The council’s performance report, the events that were organized during the past period, and the events scheduled during the coming period were also reviewed. The performance report included organizing international and local sporting events in various sports. The number of events that were organized during the Corona pandemic reached 90, 10 of them International and 80 local events, while the number of upcoming events scheduled for this November and December will be 85, 13 of which are international and 72 local, and at the forefront of the events that will be organized in Dubai during the months of November and December: the Omega Dubai Moonlight Classic Women's Championship, the Snow Challenge, IPL Indian Cricket League Final, Cycling Challenge, Al Marmoom Desert Running Race, Mountain Biking Championship in Hatta, Dubai Golf Championship, DP World Golf Championship, and Dubai International Sports Conference.

The Board of Directors reviewed the report of the Development and Future Committee, which included the model for sporting excellence in its eighth session, which was designed in line with developments in the sports sector and all areas of life and the scope of the council’s powers, as the new model will be applied during the current sports season, and the winners in its categories will be honored. In 2021, the eighth session of the model will be launched to honor the performance of public and private sports institutions, based on the Dubai Council's oversight of private sports institutions, the diversity of the scope and field of work of these institutions, the focus on business continuity, flexibility in dealing with crises, and the ability to recover and continue the performance.

According to the new model, the honors will be distributed to the government sector: clubs and football companies, and their performance will be evaluated according to the sports excellence model, as well as the private sector: academies, private clubs and fitness centers.

Their performance is evaluated according to the classification system for private sports institutions.

The meeting also reviewed the report of the Investment and Projects Committee in the Council on the plan to achieve self-sufficiency for football companies in Dubai, in accordance with current developments, and appropriate directions were taken in this regard.
