The classic enduro competition Gotland Grand National was held despite the ongoing pandemic, where many similar events were canceled.

It can also be stated that the competition itself, did not create a corona outbreak.

- We have had a gradual increase during the autumn, and a doubling of the number of cases in the past week, but I interpret this as Gotland following the pattern in the rest of Sweden with a large spread of infection, says Maria Amér.

However, cases may still emerge afterwards.

- An event like Gotland Grand National has participants from many parts of Sweden.

If anyone else has tested positive who has driven here, it can be registered in the region where they live.

And then it is up to the infection control in that region if they want to give feedback to us, Maria Amér continues.

"A well-thought-out arrangement"

Maria Amér thinks that GGN and the organizer Nordic Sport & Event managed the competition in an infectious way.

- It was a well-thought-out event with great commitment from those responsible that the competition would be carried out in an infectious manner.

In the evening, there were people from the region out on the town with guards and people from the supervisory unit.

And they judged that they generally complied with the advice and restrictions that exist.

Everything seems to have been carried out according to plan, says Maria Amér.
