Malmö FF is storming towards a new Swedish Championship gold.

After the victory in Skånederbyt against Helsingborg (1-0), the team now has a ten point lead before second place Elfsborg, when four matches remain - and the first MFF title since 2017 is fast approaching.

Isaac Kiese Thelin became the big match winner with his twelfth goal of the season.

The striker took advantage of a post from Erdal Rakip and scored the winning goal between the legs of goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard after a quarter played.

Nice start of HIF

It was otherwise Helsingborg who started the match most briskly and who had much of the game in the match but the sharpness was lacking in both posts and finishes. The sharpest opportunity in the first half had Anthony van den Hurk from close range but the shot flew a good distance over the crossbar.

Helsingborg has one point up to the qualifying place and must continue to fight for survival in the Allsvenskan. Just over 60 km south, the situation is the opposite - Malmö FF has a golden weather with four rounds left.
