Every day, Anicet Mbida makes us discover an innovation that could well change the way we consume.

This Monday, he is interested in motorcycle or two-wheel helmets which are thinner and which are not afraid of shocks.

The innovation of the day are helmets for bicycles and motorcycles with greater longevity.

In particular because we will be able to reuse them after a shock.

It could change everything.

Because, today, all bikers know it: as soon as you have an accident or your helmet falls, it is recommended to change it.

Why ?

Because the interior foam may have been deformed and compacted, which may cause it to lose its effectiveness if it has to absorb another shock in the same place.

So it can end up being expensive if we have to buy one every time it slips out of our hands.

Fortunately, this will no longer be the case with a whole new type of helmet.

It uses a gel as the interior coating in place of the current foam or polystyrene.

As it is gel, it will be able to regain its shape, thus retaining its absorption capacity, even in the event of another shock in the same place.

It is a technology called "liquid nanofoam", which could be translated as "liquid nanofoam".

When will the first helmets be available?

In principle, in the spring.

First of all, they will be American football helmets.

It is a technology developed in the United States at Michigan State University (the Detroit Lions team).

But manufacturers of bicycle helmets have also taken out a license.

Because the gel makes it possible to make more flexible helmets that perfectly fit the shape of the head.

This makes it possible to make models that are both more comfortable and less bulky.

On the other hand, I think the motorcycle helmet manufacturers will be dragging their feet a bit.

We imagine that they would rather sell a new helmet with each shock, rather than one that lasts longer.
