After two straight losses in the league, most recently against Real Madrid in El Clasico last weekend, Barcelona came to Alaves to take three much-needed points.
But it started anything but good.

After an hour of play, the home team's Jota received a red card, and just a minute later Antoine Griezmann equalized.
But there was no winning goal for Barcelona, who are now eight points behind one Real Madrid, who have one match more played.
Barcelona have only taken two points in the last four matches in the league, and the pressure on new coach Ronald Koeman is increasing.
