[Explanation] On October 31, a memorial ceremony for Gao Fengwen, former member and head coach of the Chinese National Men's Football Team, was held in Shenyang, Liaoning Province.

Hundreds of family members of the elderly Gao Fengwen, people in the Chinese football community and fans came to mourn.

Deeply cherish the memory of this man who led the Chinese national men's football team out of Asia for the first time and rushed to the world football legend.

  [Explanation] In the morning that day, the reporter came to the funeral home where the memorial ceremony was held for Gao Fengwen. The farewell hall was crowded with people who came to mourn the old man Gao Fengwen.

  He (Gao Fengwen) has indeed made the greatest contribution to Chinese football. I also thank him often for this. I hope that Gao Fengwen will do well all the way.

  [Explanation] Looking back on Gao Fengwen's life, he brought a new chapter in Chinese football.

In 1982, he led the Chinese national youth team to win the runner-up of the Asian Youth Championship. In 1983, he led the team to participate in the World Youth Championship. The national youth team he led was also the first team to break out of Asia in the history of Chinese football.

In 1987, he led the Chinese national team to win tickets for the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

In 1988, he led the team to fourth in the Asian Cup. He resigned in 1990 and then founded China's first private football school. In 2002, he won the China Football Special Contribution Award.

On October 27, 2020, he died of illness in Shenyang at the age of 81.
