On October 27th, Chinese football legend and former Chinese football coach Gao Fengwen passed away at the age of 81.

Gao Fengwen, born in Kaiyuan, Liaoning in 1939, won the China Football Special Contribution Award in 2002.

He coached the Chinese Youth Football Team in 1979. In 1982, he led the team and won the runner-up of the Asian Youth Championship. In 1983, he led the team to participate in the World Youth Championship. The National Youth is also the first team in Chinese football history to break out of Asia.

In 1984, he formed and coached the Chinese Junior Team. In December 1986, he was appointed as the coach of the Chinese National Team. In 1987, he led the team to win tickets for the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

In 1988, he led his team to fourth in the Asian Cup. In the 1990 Asian Games, he led his team to resign after losing to Thailand.
