Laliga
continues in its crusade to shield football from
Covid
and they have taken extreme precautions to the point that
stadium
dressing rooms
have become prohibited territory.
The risk of squads changing and showering in them after matches have led the body chaired by
Javier Tebas
to hire
barracks
with showers where footballers can wash up after the matches.
So far, both locals and visitors left the stadiums without going through the shower, some on their way to their homes and others from the concentration hotel.
Facing winter this situation was not sustainable, so the luxurious changing rooms of some First Division stadiums will be replaced by prefabricated facilities where, five by five, the players go through the shower.
"It involves investing a lot of money because the changing rooms cannot be used for more than a few minutes, but it is necessary. It is much more difficult to finish this one than the previous one, because then the
Eurocup
was suspended
and there were dates to recover. This year impossible, because if not there is a Eurocup, UEFA would be ruined ", explained the president of LaLiga during a presentation in Valencia.
No talk of coaches
According to LaLiga protocol, "the changing rooms are
areas of high risk of transmission
", so the players hardly step on them: the five minutes that go from the end of the warm-up to the start of the game and at halftime.
The technical talk of the coaches is no longer made within those four walls, but the last instructions are given in the concentration hotel, as well as the treatments and bandages that the footballers need.
During the break, not even the substitutes can listen to the instructions of the coaches because they cannot access together with the rest of their teammates.
These guidelines provoked a letter of protest addressed to LaLiga from
the Technical Committee of coaches
signed by its president, José Ramón Cueto Lobo, and in which he demanded a modification of the protocol.
LaLiga never answered despite public criticism from technicians such as José Luis
Mendilibar
or
Sergio Fernández
.
