It was not a boring goalless event but there were plenty of goal chances, almost exclusively from Elfsborg's side.

The closest was substitute Robert Gojani who boldly pulled away a high ball from halfway when Varberg's goalkeeper Stojan Lukic stood far out.

The ball hit the crossbar and Lukic was cut.

- I think I have control but it takes the crossbar, says Lukic who was honest and received the earned points.

- We must be happy with one point.

They had good pressure.

It was Elfsborg that created the hottest locations.

Rasmus Alm had two free throws, not completely clean but still good, but was first stopped by Lukic who went out and cut off the angle.

In the second fine position, when the rain increased, Alm got the ball just outside the far post.

Kaib: "My free position should just sit"

Rami Kaib also had a pretty good free kick a bit to the left but Lukic saved

- We created a lot of chances but missed the last minute today.

My free position in the first half should just sit.

We are thinking about the next match now, says Kaib

The very best position for Elfsborg was perhaps Joseph Okumu had in the first half when he nodded over the ball from three meters after a left corner.

Varberg had a really good chance.

It was Adama Fofana who fired a sizzling direct shot that was saved just before the goal line.

Gideon Mensah was nodding in his own Varberg goal but Lukic saved acrobatically at the right cross.
