What an outcome on the Tour of Italy!

Tied perfectly this Sunday morning before the last stage, Tao Geoghegan Hart and Jay Hindley fought a final battle during a 15.7 kilometer time trial in the streets of Milan.

It was finally the Briton from the Ineos team who won, managing to push his rival back to 38 seconds.

A significant gap on the scale of this time, but tiny after three weeks of racing.

Wilco Kelderman, who took the jersey during the Stelvio stage, completes the podium.

Tao Geoghegan Hart therefore held his rank.

More at ease in the exercise, it was he who started as the favorite against Hindley, and the difference between the two riders was visible from the first kilometers.

Hindley, who wore the pink jersey, had already dropped 22 seconds in the intermediate score.

Ganna, of course ...

Geoghegan Hart's final victory is a huge surprise, since since his professional debut in 2017, in the Sky team which became Ineos, the Londoner had only two stage successes in the Tour des Alpes 2019. It must be said that he was confined to a role of lieutenant for its leaders.

On this Giro too, by the way, but the abandonment of Geraint Thomas from the 3rd stage changed everything.

The day was perfect for Ineos, since it was Filippo Ganna, already winner of the first two qualifying stages, who won this 21st stage.

The fourth overall success for the time trial world champion on this Giro 2020. He beat Victor Campenaerts and Rohan Dennis.
