History!

There is no other word to qualify the victory of Mérignac Handball against Nice (24-21) on the 5th day of the Women's League.

After 23 straight defeats in LFH straddling the last two seasons, the MHB finally signs its first victory since its return to the elite a year ago!

“It really feels good because we've been waiting for it for a long time.

We really hoped to be rewarded for our efforts in training and especially to be respected at home, ”savored Julie Dazet, the captain of this team at the final whistle.

A beneficial change of coach?

This season, there had already been a little better, especially since the change of coach a few weeks ago with the arrival of Christophe Chagnard in place of Philippe Carrara.

Against the Niçois, the Mérignacaises could count on an excellent Lena Le Borgne in the cages (13 saves) and Laurie Puleri in attack (9 goals).

The club hope this victory will be the start of a new, much more glorious series.

Next test against Nantes on Wednesday.
