All Japan University Women's Ekiden Meijo University wins 4 consecutive championships with new tournament record October 25, 18:24

The All Japan University Women's Ekiden was held in Sendai City, and Meijo University in Aichi Prefecture set a new record for the tournament in 2 hours 2 minutes 57 seconds and won the championship for the fourth time in a row.

On the 25th, 25 teams from all over the country participated in the 38th tournament, competing in 6 sections of Sendai City, 38.1 km.



When Meijo University entered the 1st ward in 2nd place after Ritsumeikan University, it took the lead in the 2nd ward, and in the 3rd ward, 2nd grader Narumi Kobayashi widened the lead by running a new section record.



Furthermore, in the 5th ward where the ace of each school was lined up, Rika Kaseda, a 4th grade captain, showed a new section record and was far behind the 2nd place and below.



In the final 6 wards, Tomomi Musembi Takamatsu, a third-year student, defended the lead and won the championship for the fourth consecutive time with a time of 2 hours 2 minutes 57 seconds, which was a new record for the tournament.



2nd place is Daito Bunka University, 3rd place is Nippon Sport Science University, 4th place is Ritsumeikan University, 5th place is Kansai University, 6th place is Osaka Gakuin University, 7th place is Josai University, 8th place is Matsuyama University. Up to the rank has won the right to participate next year.
