The game between PEC Zwolle and Willem II did not receive a winner on Saturday.

Despite an exciting final phase, both teams were unable to find the net and the game ended in 0-0.

It was a small miracle that no goals were scored in the MAC³PARK stadium before half-time.

The home team in particular had enough chances to score a goal, but Robbin Ruiter, and later his replacement Jorn Brondeel, kept his goal clean.

Willem II was the weaker party throughout the match, but was close to the opening goal fifteen minutes before the end.

Mike Trésor found the head of Vangelis Pavlidis with a free kick, but the Greek headed the post.

That turned out to be the start of a tumultuous final phase.

Five minutes before the end, Mustafa Saymak got his second yellow card after a foul on Derrick Köhn.

In the instance, referee Martin Pérez put the ball on the spot, but the VAR ruled that the violation had been made outside the penalty area.

Jan-Arie van der Heijden seemed to score the winning goal from the following cleverly taken free kick.

After minutes of deliberation with the VAR and reviewing the images, the referee decided to reject the goal due to an annoying offside by Sebastian Holmén.

Both PEC and Willem II failed to book his second victory of the season.

The club from Zwolle is ninth with six points from six games and the Tilburgers are one place lower with a point less.
