Defeating Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko, Lopez at the age of 23 years 85 days became the youngest holder of four championship titles and the second in the list of the youngest boxers in history, having won at least three world titles, after Mike Tyson.
The judges unanimously gave the victory to Lopez - 116: 112, 119: 109 and 117: 111.
Thus, the American became the undisputed world champion.
Earlier it was reported that Lomachenko announced his disagreement with the decision of the judges in the fight with Lopez.
