Tobias Forsbergs was operated on for nine hours after the serious injury in the match against Almtuna.

It has been almost two years since the incident that made him now in a wheelchair.

In SVT's Helgstudion he tells about the life he lives today and how he looks back on what happened.

- I remember everything pretty well actually, with all the impressions and it was almost like you see it on film.

You press a button and it stops working.

I never fainted, and after a while my sight and hearing return.

But I noticed quite quickly that there was something else that will not come back.

I can feel the ice melting against my cheek, but I could not move my arms and legs.

There are strong impressions once you lie there, says Tobias Forsberg.

- You see what an unfortunate situation it is.

You end up there so many times in a match, and it is totally unfortunate that you end up where you do, he continues.

"Obvious things were not as easy anymore"

The road back has been long, and difficult many times.

- I would say that the hardest part has been getting back to everyday life.

Things that were obvious before were not as easy anymore.

It was not just jumping on the couch and watching a movie, but I needed a lot of help.

I could not brush my teeth, but things that were taken for granted before were not as easy anymore.

And it hit me very hard in the beginning, says Tobias Forsberg.

How did you handle it?

- You have to somehow accept the situation.

I will never accept that I am sitting in this chair.

But I still have to accept what has happened in order to move forward in the process.

My father usually says that it is as it is, but not as it should be, says Tobias Forsberg.

The whole of hockey Sweden got involved in Forsberg's injury and showed strong support.

Something he found out months after the beating.

- It was quite late in the process that I got to take part in it.

My family felt I was not quite ready for it.

It was only in March, and there were incredibly strong emotions.

They were moved and strengthened by it, says Tobias Forsberg.
