The death of the legend of Lebanese football .. "He won the Egyptian League and asked for Inter Milan."

Lebanese football has lost one of its legends, former international goalkeeper Abdel-Rahman Shabarou, who died today, Friday, at the age of 76, after suffering with illness, and was recently infected with the emerging Corona virus.

The daughter of the late Asrar Shbaro explained on her Facebook page that "the burial ceremony of Captain Shbaro will be normal because the Corona examination was negative in his last days."

Shabaro remained sick in a Beirut hospital for a month before his death, due to his suffering from a "stomach germ" that impeded his movement, before he contracted "Covid-19", and went into a coma for the past two days before he died.

Shbaro is considered one of the most prominent goalkeepers in the history of Lebanese football, as he was discovered by the "godfather" of the late Najma club, Samir, the enemy, and he began his career in 1953 with the same club, where he continued with him most of his thirty-year career.

Chabarou also played for Al-Ansar, in addition to playing foreign matches with Racing Beirut.

In the mid-sixties, Chbaro received an offer from the Italian club Inter Milan to play for its ranks for 50 thousand dollars at the time, but this matter did not materialize because of the clinging of the Nabedi club to its goalkeeper.

In the

1966-1967 season Adanaspor "Sheikh guards" with the

Egyptian Olympic Club and led him

to the

league title, but he was

forced to terminate the

contract because of the

1967 war conditions

, he said earlier in an

interview with a

journalist that he had received an

offer of professionalism in Morocco late sixties to grant Moroccan citizenship and play for The Atlas Lions in the 1970 World Cup.

After he retired, Chbaro moved to training, where he lost the sight in his right eye during one of the classes with the Nejmeh team, and after that he went through several training experiences with Al-Ansar and Racing, but he did not last long.
