Eight players from the Montpellier club and four members of the technical staff tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday, we learned from the Hérault club on Friday, which was supposed to travel to Monaco on Sunday for the 7th day of Ligue 1. The The entire group underwent new tests on Friday while the twelve infected people were placed in isolation, the MHSC said in a statement.

Michel Der Zakarian's team, ranked 5th in the championship, must travel to Monaco on Sunday, before hosting Reims next week at La Mosson.
During the fifteen-day international break, seven players from the Hérault squad were selected for various French and foreign selections.
MHSC particularly affected
Since the start of the pandemic, seven players from Montpellier have already been affected by Covid-19.
Junior midfielder Sambia, who had been hospitalized and placed in an artificial coma at the end of April, was the first Ligue 1 player to suffer from the coronavirus.
Then Ambroise Oyongo, Mihailo Ristic, Thibault Tamas and more recently Florent Mollet or Thibaut Vargas were also infected and isolated from the group for fourteen days.
Finally, striker Andy Delort was infected with the coronavirus on the eve of the resumption of the championship and thus deprived of the first match in Rennes (2-1).
Montpellier, also affected by the serious heart attack of the former international goalkeeper and deputy director of the Bruno Martini training center, was waiting for the trip to Monaco to revive after the defeat at home against the neighbor and rival, Nîmes (0-1 ) on October 4.
