Napoli never traveled to Juventus to face the reigning champions on Sunday 4 October.

The trip was canceled due to the fact that there were two players in the squad in Piotr Zielinski and Eljif Elmas who had tested positive for covid-19.

The club believes that the local health authority had banned the club from traveling and that they instead had to self-isolate the team as a precautionary measure.

However, this did not follow the protocol that the clubs together accepted for the season.

It does not say that two confirmed cases of covid-19 are enough to have the right to withdraw from a match.

Penalty with points deduction

The disciplinary committee has now decided that Napoli did not have a good enough reason to withdraw from a match and not to show up, which has led them to now decide to give a victory with 3-0 and three points to Juventus.

In addition, Napoli receive a points deduction from the Serie A table as a penalty for not following the correct guidelines.
