Al-Wehda is "Super Syria" at Tishreen's account, in a tense atmosphere

Al-Wehda Damascene, the cup holder, crowned the champion of the Syrian Super Cup for football, beating Tishreen, the league champion, 2-1, today, Wednesday, at the opening of the new football season.

The two teams presented a medium performance in which they shared control in front of about 7,000 spectators, equally from the audience of the two parties.

Al-Wahda first followed up with the international, Abdel-Rahman Barakat, inside the penalty area (28), before international Mohamed Marmour scored a draw, with an elaborate header (34).

Al-Wehda missed the opportunity to advance from a penalty kick in the last minute of the first half, but international goalkeeper Ahmed Madania saved his goal by blocking Mohamed Zeno.

The equalizer continued until the 79th minute, when the referee awarded a penalty for Al-Wahda, from which Abdel Rahman Barakat scored the winning goal for his team.

The atmosphere became tense due to Al-Barakat's provocative move by the Tishreen fans after scoring the goal, which resulted in his expulsion amid collective objections from Al-Wehda players and confrontations between the players of the two teams, forcing the referee to raise the red card for Moayad Khouli from Al-Wehda and Mohamed Marmour from Tishreen.

Tishreen did not benefit from the numerical shortage in the ranks of Al Wehdah, which maintained its lead and thus won the Super Cup for the second time in its history after 2016.

The wheel of the Syrian League will return to rotation next Wednesday, October 21.
