Sweden played against Portugal in the Nations League at home on September 8.

It was a 2-0 loss.

Cristiano Ronaldo had a great evening with two goals.

Tomorrow it's time for the return meeting in Portugal.

Then Sweden will not have to face Ronaldo as the big star has tested positive for covid-19.

A positive message when you look at the latest meetings between the countries.

Ronaldo has scored seven of Portugal's last eight goals against Blågult.

- That says it all about the greatness he has.

It's just a terrible monster.

He's dangerous all the time, it's such a terrible threat.

It is such a class difference from everyone else on the field, says SVT Sports expert Daniel Nannskog.

When Sweden played the World Cup playoff against Portugal in 2013, Blågult conceded four goals - all scored by Ronaldo.

The Swedish national team won a training match against Portugal in 2017, when Ronaldo scored one of the goals in the 2-3 loss.

And on September 8, the 35-year-old scored both goals for Portugal.

Does not lack stars

Portugal missed Ronaldo in the meeting with Croatia on 5 September.

Without the Juventus star, the team still managed to defeat the World Cup runner-up 4-1.

- It is a terribly good team without Ronaldo.

There are quality players in every position, even when he is not with.

Bernardo Silva, Joao Felix, Bruno Fernandes are just some of the players, says Nannskog and continues:

- You want it to go as well as possible for Sweden, so if you choose with your heart, it is obviously best with a Portugal without Ronaldo.

But it's sad to not see him.

It is still such a terribly good football player that you enjoy every time.

It's damn fun to see him.
