Glenn Solberg's last year has been almost improbable.

The Norwegian coach finished as the Swedish national team captain in April 2019 and after the European Championships in January, he officially took over from Kristjan Andrésson.

Since then, he has been waiting for his first match.

And waited.

And has been quarantined for a few months in his hometown of Lier in Norway.

On November 5 against Romania, he will make his debut as Swedish national team captain.

- It has been a special and difficult time.

At the same time, we have used it to build a foundation that all players agree on.

It feels really good, even though it has been difficult, says Solberg who, despite the corona pandemic, managed to get to both Denmark and Germany to meet some of the Swedish national team players.

- It has been a very different type of work with a job from home.

For us in Norway, there have been strict rules and a lot of quarantine so I have not met the players to the extent I want.

Now it's nice to be here after being more or less isolated for seven months.
