Egyptian Olympic: FIFA has no right to interfere with Murtaza Mansour's suspension

The Secretary-General of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, Eng. Sherif El-Erian, confirmed in a telephone interview with the "Al-Hekaya" program presented by Amr Adib on MBC Egypt, that the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports is not among his powers to intervene to cancel the last decision of the "Olympic Committee". Related to the suspension of the president of Zamalek Club, Mortada Mansour for 4 years, and that "FIFA has no right to interfere with the committee's decisions or cancel them as well."

Al-Erian said: "The Egyptian Olympic Committee met and considered the complaints submitted by 29 Olympic game federations against Murtaza Mansour, and issued its final decision against him," stressing that Zamalek is not a party to the crisis at all.

He explained, "All judges in the Olympic Committee are delegated by the Ministry of Justice. The president of the Olympic Committee or its members have no right to interfere in the judgments issued by the committee's judges, and no party has the right to interfere in them except the International Olympic Committee and the International Sports Court."

He went on to say: “The natural procedure for the Minister of Youth and Sports after the Olympic Committee’s decision to suspend Mansour for 4 years is to raise the signatures of the president of Zamalek Club, and to recognize the signature of Ahmed Galal, Vice President of the Zamalek Club in charge of running matters until the election of a new president for the club at the first meeting of the General Assembly in Zamalek Noting that less than a year remains for the current presidency, and that there are elections for all clubs to choose new councils.

Al-Erian revealed that Mortada Mansour has the right to appeal the committee's decision within a period not exceeding one week from the issuance of the decision, provided that the committee issues its decision after that, and in the event that the appeal is rejected, the injured person, according to Law 71 of 2017, has the right to go to the Sports Court and the Committee International.

He continued: "We asked President of the Zamalek Club, Mortada Mansour, to prove the complaints being reversed, but he did not do so, knowing full well that if he does not appeal the decision of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, he will waive his right, and I do not think that the Egyptian Parliament will intervene in this matter." ".
