A hard blow for our Portuguese friends… Olympique Lyonnais goalkeeper Anthony Lopes tested positive for Covid-19 and left the Portuguese team immediately after.

This announcement comes a few days before a capital match in the League of Nations against the France team in Saint-Denis (Wednesday, 9 p.m.).

"The Portuguese international Anthony Lopes tested positive for Covid-19 Thursday evening and was exempted from the work of the national team," said the Portuguese Fed in a statement.

Delayed departure for Paris

This is the second confirmed case of coronavirus detected within the Seleçao during this international truce.

Lille defender José Fonte had to leave the selection on the eve of the friendly match against Spain, which ended in a draw (0-0) Wednesday in Lisbon.

The teammates of the Lyon goalkeeper, as well as the management of the Portugal team, were to be subjected to a new series of tests on Friday, before training at the end of the day, we learned from the same source.

Their departure for Paris was therefore postponed until Saturday, an FPF spokesperson told AFP.
