China News Service, October 8th. On the evening of the 7th, Beijing time, the International Olympic Committee held an executive committee meeting and later announced through its official website that IOC Chairman Bach expressed concern about the internal management of the International Weightlifting Federation.

The International Olympic Committee reserves the right to take further actions, including but not limited to reconsidering whether to include weightlifting as a 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Currently, the International Olympic Committee is monitoring the International Weightlifting Federation, focusing on anti-doping and internal management.

"We are deeply concerned about the management of the IWF."

Bach said that one of the reasons for concern is the slow progress of the International Weightlifting Federation and the lack of absorption of independent recommendations in the reform process.

On the other hand, there is a lack of athlete representatives within the IWF. This aspect absolutely needs improvement.

Bach said that the International Olympic Committee will express its concerns to the IWF, and said that the IOC is currently reviewing the project settings and quota for the weightlifting events of the Paris Olympic Games.

"We will also inform the IWF that if necessary, the IOC will reserve the right to take further measures, including but not limited to reconsidering whether to include weightlifting as a 2024 Paris Olympic Games."

It is worth mentioning that in June of this year, Canadian lawyer McLaren published an investigation report on the International Weightlifting Federation. The report found that the organization under the leadership of the former International Weightlifting Federation President Tamas Agen involved US$10 million. Huge amounts of property are unknown, cover up to 40 cases of positive doping test results, and election bribery.

Subsequently, the IOC issued a statement on the McLaren report, stating that the IOC has been asking the IWF to adjust its anti-doping system to meet its needs for the past three years.

At the same time, the International Olympic Committee will only initially include it in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, depending on the effect of the IWF's reform of its own anti-doping system and project culture.
