Lugi, who finished fourth in SHE last season, lost the two opening matches against Höör and Skara but tonight they broke the gloomy trend.

The home team went up to 7-3 after two straight goals by Emma Navne just over a quarter into the match.

Then Lugi kept a lead on a couple of balls throughout the first half.

When Hanna Popaja sent a perfect draft to Beatrice Nilsson, it made it 12-7 for the home team.

Despite the fact that Nilsson was tough courted by a Kristianstad player, she managed to both catch the ball and put it there.

At halftime, it was 12-8.

The newcomer Kristianstad burned, among other things, three penalties and also had five frame hits.

Kristianstad really only had contact once during the second half but Emilia Andersson's 10-12 reduction quickly became Lugi's lead with 14-10 after two straight goals by Tyra Axnér.

Just Axnér became the match's top scorer with eight hits.

When Olivia Löfqvist put 22-18 from the line with just over four minutes left, the match felt decided.

It was finally 24-20 to Lugi who took the first victory of the season.

Kristianstad is still on zero points after three games played.
