The Miami Heat increased the tension in the match series when they reduced to 1-2 last time.

But last night, the Lakers bounced back and put one hand on the NBA Cup.

They now lead 3-1 in matches and it has only happened once in 35 attempts that a team that was down 1-3 in matches in the final series has turned into a victory.

That time, in 2016, it was LeBron James who made sure that his then team Cleveland turned the final series against the Golden State Warriors.

The night's final was even for a long time.

The Lakers led by two points at halftime and it was exactly the same, 83-83, with six minutes left of the game.

A decisive sequence came with about three minutes left in the game when star Jimmy Butler missed a three-point attempt that had given Miami the lead.

Instead, the game turned the other way and seven seconds later, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope put a third that sent the Lakers in the lead with five points, 93-88.

"I do not intend to sleep"

Heat stayed close but when Anthony Davis put in a third that meant 100-91 with 39 seconds left, the match was virtually over.

The match ended 102-96.

- We understand what is at stake and I do not intend to sleep until the job is completed.

We must stay focused on the task.

Now we get an extra day of rest before the next match and I look forward to watching video from this match and analyzing it, says LeBron James, who was the best scorer with 28 points and in addition was noted for twelve rebounds and eight assists.

In Miami, Jimmy Butler excelled with 22 points, ten rebounds and nine assists.

The night before Saturday, Swedish time, the Lakers have the chance to secure their first title since 2010.
