Olsen sat on the bench in Rome's latest league match against Udinese and during the summer has been linked with a bunch of other clubs, including Watford, Bayer Leverkusen, Parma, Rennes and Celtic.

According to Aftonbladet, none of the mentioned clubs would have wanted to pay the goalkeeper's full salary if he were to go on loan, and since Roma were also not prepared to cover the salary difference, the Swede will remain.

During Monday's press conference, national team captain Janne Andersson commented on the goalkeeper's situation:

- I hope he gets the chance to play as much as possible in Roma now that he stays.

I spoke to Robin last week and he has had some injuries, but the hope is that he will compete.

- He has every chance to take the shirt in Roma but in general I would say that as much playing time as possible in the club team is good.
