Saint-Germain strengthens his waist with a Portuguese star

Paris Saint-Germain strengthened his midfield by signing Danilo Pereira from Porto on loan, according to what the French League champion and Champions League runner-up announced on Monday on the last day of the summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old, who played 39 matches with the Portuguese national team, signed until June 30 with the option to sign him permanently.

Pereira defended Porto in 200 and two games (19 goals) and won the League Cup in 2018 and 2020, the Portuguese Super Cup (2018) and the League Cup (2020).

Pereira said that moving to the ranks of the Parisian club poses "a new challenge for me, and being part of Paris Saint-Germain suits my ambitions."

And he considered that "joining one of the biggest clubs in Europe and the world is a huge moment in my career, and I hope to bring a lot to Paris and its fans."

On Sunday, Saint-Germain announced that he had signed the young Italian striker Moise Kane from Everton, England, on loan, in order to compensate for the departure of his historic Uruguayan scorer Edinson Cavani and Cameroonian Eric Maxime Chopo-Moting.

The number of arrivals to the German coach Thomas Tuchel's team rose this summer to four so far, after the other Italian winger Alessandro Florentzi, coming from Rome on loan as well, and Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico, coming from Seville, who loaned him last season to the Parisian club.
