FC Emmen has strengthened itself on Monday with eight-time international Ricardo van Rhijn and the German goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald.
FC Twente hired midfielder Luka Ilic for a year from Manchester City one day before the close of the transfer market.
Van Rhijn played for sc Heerenveen last season, but his contract in Friesland was not extended.
The 29-year-old defender has signed with Emmen for one year.
The former player of Ajax, Club Brugge and AZ played eight international matches for the Dutch national team between 2012 and 2014.
He has 161 Eredivisie duels to his name.
Wiedwald also signed for one year in Emmen, with an option for an extra season.
At his previous club Eintracht Frankfurt, the thirty-year-old German was reserve keeper.
He previously played in England with Leeds United and in Germany for Werder Bremen and MSV Duisburg.
The 33-year-old Dennis Telgenkamp defended the goal of the team from Drenthe in the first four league matches.
Emmen is in the lower regions of the Eredivisie with two points.

Ilic remains active in the Netherlands
FC Twente-acquisition Ilic has already played in the Netherlands for the past two seasons, as Manchester City leased him to NAC Breda.
In Brabant, the 21-year-old Serb scored seven goals and seven assists in 45 matches.
"After the departure of Giorgi Aburjania, we wanted to add a left-footed midfielder to the selection," says technical director Jan Streuer on the FC Twente site.
"Luka knows Dutch football well and is a talented, creative football player."
Ilic still needs to get a work permit.
He hopes to join his new team next week.
"I'm really looking forward to it. I've known the club since the time that Dusan Tadic played there, I was still young and the games were live in Serbia on television."
