Leonardo, director of football at French football club Paris Saint-Germain, rebuked Thomas Tuchel, after the German coach had publicly called for improvements to the team.

"We really didn't like that," Leonardo said yesterday after Saint Germain beat Angers 6/1 in the sixth stage of the French League.

"If there is a person who does not feel happy but decided to stay, then he must accept the club's policy, and its internal rules."

Last season, Saint-Germain won three domestic titles and reached the Champions League final before losing to Bayern Munich.

Despite this, Tuchel has repeatedly called for new deals to be concluded, but Leonardo said that the Corona pandemic crisis made things difficult financially.

"We live in a difficult situation, not only in football," said the former Brazilian national team player, adding that the club had lost about 100 million euros due to the pandemic.

"In order to stay in this club, you have to be prepared to suffer for the sake of the club, and to sacrifice yourself, even when we are going through difficult times," Leonardo added.

Leonardo did not disclose whether the club would impose a penalty on Tuchel, whose contract with Saint-Germain continues until the end of the season, and said only: "We will discuss internally what we will do."

Saint-Germain signed only right-back Alessandro Florenzi and substitute goalkeeper Alexandre Lotille, while Edinson Cavani, Thiago Silva, Thomas Monier, Tangi Kouassi and Erik Maxime Chubbo-Moting departed.

While the team stuck to Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria.

"I'm not saying the team is weak," Leonardo said.

We are talking about a wonderful team. ”

Leonardo confirmed that the French club recorded losses of 100 million euros due to the Corona pandemic.
