On August 25, SVT Sport reported that Bea Malecki would meet the American Tracy Cortez on October 10.

The match was to take place in bantamweight (61.2 kilos) on the famous "Fight Island" in Abu Dhabi.

But Malecki never left Sweden.

Instead, she is now forced to withdraw from the fight with one week's notice.

- Unfortunately, I will not go to the match on October 10.

I hope to fight against Tracy Cortez next time, she says to SVT Sport.

"Hope to go match in December"

What is it that makes the match not end?

- We have chosen not to go out with why yet, but I did not have time to leave (from Sweden, editor's note).

When can we see you go to the match again?

- I hope to go to the match again in December, says Malecki.

Swiss replaces

26-year-old Cortez has won seven of his eight professional matches.

She is now facing replacement Stephanie Egger, 32, from Switzerland.

Egger makes his UFC debut and has won five of six matches.

Bea Malecki is a former European Championship and World Cup gold medalist in Thai boxing.

The match against Cortez had become her third in the UFC and the fifth as an MMA pro.
