Frenchman Hugo Gaston, 20, achieved a huge feat by eliminating Stan Wawrinka in five sets (2-6, 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 6-0), Friday at Roland Garros after a fight of more than 3 hours.

He will face Dominic Thiem, finalist last year, in the round of 16.

What a feeling !

Hugo Gaston, barely 20, delivered a performance as magnificent as it was unexpected by eliminating Stan Wawrinka in five sets (2-6, 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 6-0) on Friday in the third round of Roland-Garros.

Incredible courage, the young Toulousain (239th in the world) put the Swiss, winner of three Grand Slams (including Roland-Garros in 2015) to death, to win after a fight of just over 3 hours.

Hugo Gaston, who is taking part in the Paris tournament for the first time, will challenge world No. 3 Dominic Thiem in the round of 16, finalist last year and recent winner of the US Open.

IT IS DONE !

Hugo Gaston inflicts a bubble (6/0) on Wawrinka in the 5th set and brings down the Swiss!

What a MONSTERIOUS feat of the Frenchman who climbed to eighth for his first Grand Slam!
