VVV-Venlo has strengthened itself on Thursday for the rest of this season with Zinedine Machach.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who is named after Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane, is rented from Napoli.
VVV-Venlo has also negotiated an option to buy in the rental contract of Machach, which has a contract in Italy until mid-2022.
The Frenchman, who switched from Toulouse to Napoli in January 2018, has already been rented out to the small Italian clubs Carpi, Crotone and Cosenza in recent years.
"Zinedine is a creative midfielder who has insight and an eye for the through pass," says technical manager Stan Valckx on the VVV site.
"He has of course had a fantastic learning experience at Toulouse and Napoli. In addition, he has played the necessary matches in the Ligue 1 in France and the Serie B in Italy."
Last season, Machach scored one goal and one assist on behalf of Cosenza in eighteen matches in Serie B, the second level in Italy.
In total, he has three goals and three assists in 74 league games in his career.
The playmaker, like his namesake Zidane, was born in Marseille and of Algerian-Moroccan descent.
"When I was born in 1996, Zidane played for Girondins de Bordeaux. My brother was a football fan and asked my mother to give me the name Zinedine," Machach explained his first name three years ago.
