Last night, the Swedish club Krasnodar beat Greek Paok 2-1 in the playoffs for the Champions League.

Over two matches, the result was 4-2 to the Russians and thus they will play the Champions League for the first time in the club's history.

- You're a little tired today.

It was completely magical, says Viktor Claesson who plays there together with Marcus Berg and Kristoffer Olsson.

During the same day, Claesson also received the news that he was selected in Janne Andersson's national team squad for the first time after the injury.

- It's great fun and it's something I have had as a goal throughout the rehab period.

It was a good day yesterday, he says.

"Became very good"

The Champions League is thus waiting this autumn with Krasnodar, but it was not a given that it would be so for Claesson.

- The injury was just before the summer window started last year, but the ambition was clearly to get to an even bigger league at that stage.

Then came the injury and I had to rethink a bit, but it turned out very well.

It feels very good at the moment to be here.

What do you see for the club in the future?

- You can not think like that, but you have to live in the present.

We will try to perform as well as possible here in Krasnodar this year and then we will see how far it goes.

"More than you could have dreamed of"

Claesson has gained a lot of confidence since his comeback.

He has also scored three goals.

- It has been a little more minutes than you could have dreamed of here in the beginning.

I've had a lot of minutes so it's fun, but at the same time you have to keep a balance and not overload.
