Al-Ahly of Egypt renews the contract with tennis star Mayar Sherif

The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Al-Ahly Club decided to renew the contract of the tennis player Mayar Sherif, who performed distinguishedly in the French Open tennis tournament (Roland Garros) currently held in the French capital, Paris.

Al-Ahly's board of directors, headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, held a meeting this morning at the club's headquarters on the island, and the beginning of the session witnessed a moment of mourning for the death of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The Board approved the recommendations of the Executive Office in its previous two sessions, which included renewing the club's contract with tennis player Mayar Sharif.

Mayar Sharif achieved an unprecedented achievement as she became the first Egyptian player to participate in the first major round of one of the four major "Grand Slam" tournaments, following her brilliance in the qualifiers.

Mayar Sharif gave a strong performance in the first round in front of world number four Czech Karolina Pliskova, who finally settled the confrontation with a difficult victory 6/7 (9/11), 6/2 and 6/4.
