Henrik Lundqvist has been loyal to the New York Rangers since he moved to the USA in the autumn of 2005. But in the last season, where the competition for playing time in the team has been enormous, there has been speculation about Lundqvist's future.
Now it is clear that he is leaving the club, which has chosen to buy him out from his last year on the contract.
This means that Lundqvist can go to whichever club he wants from October 9, when the open market begins in the NHL.
