Neymar is on the blacklist of the Spanish tax authorities ... know his debts

Spanish tax authorities have blacklisted Brazil's Neymar, star of French football club Paris Saint-Germain, of more than 34 million euros in debt, according to an official document published on Wednesday on the official tax authority's website.

Neymar, who played for Barcelona between 2013 and 2017, tops a list of thousands of individuals and companies, with a debt of 34.6 million euros, which is the highest among all "debtors".

And the Spanish press revealed last summer that the local tax authorities had demanded Neymar for an amount of nearly 35 million euros in a tax evasion case from the period he was playing for the Catalan club, but the information was not yet official.

The document, titled "List of Debtors", includes thousands of individuals and companies with "debts of more than one million euros".

The official tax authority, which confirmed the appearance of Neymar for the first time in this blacklist, did not specify the link of religion and whether it was related to his move in 2013 to Barcelona from Santos, Brazil.

But she indicated that several criteria had to be met, such as bypassing the deadline for debt repayment or even not paying it in December 2019 to be blacklisted.
