Denver, who have previously managed to catch up with a 3-1 deficit in the previous two match series in the playoffs, did not succeed all the way this time.

The team started strong, the first period was even and the LA Lakers took it home, but Denver led most of the period.

In others, the Lakers connected grips on the game.

That grip admittedly released somewhat at the end of the third, but Denver never really managed to catch up.

The final result is written 117-107 to the Lakers with the period numbers 33-30, 28-21, 26-33, 30-23.

The Lakers have a total of 31 NBA Finals in their luggage, 25 of them since moving to Los Angeles in 1960. The club has won the final 16 times before - five times at home in Minnesota and eleven times after moving to California.

The last time they played the final was in 2010 when Boston was defeated.

And this year's final could be a repeat of 2010 when the Lakers face either Boston or Miami.

Miami leads the second semifinal series with 3-2, the team will meet next time on Monday night against Swedish time.

Lakers star LeBron James, who has won the NBA three times before, two with Miami and one with Cleveland, became both the team's and the match's best scorer.

He is noted for 38 points, 16 rebounds and ten assists.

The final will be James' tenth in his career.

He will be the fourth player in history to play ten finals or more.

The other three are Bill Russell, Sam Jones and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
