Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe won the cycling world championship on Sunday in Imola, Italy.

Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe has been crowned cycling world champion!

He won the race on Sunday, which started and arrived in Imola, Italy, with between the start-finish city no less than eight climbs or passes with more than 5,000 meters of vertical drop in total.

He is the first Frenchman since Laurent Brochard in 1997 to win the cycling world championship.
