Tottenham is considered the winner in their match against Leyton Orient due to Corona

Tottenham qualified for the fourth round of the English Football League Cup, after being considered a winner in the match that was postponed Tuesday with Leyton Orient (fourth division) due to the emergence of several positive cases of Corona virus in the latter's ranks.


Orient tried to rearrange the match, but the League Cup rules required them to lose the match, which gave Spears a pass to the fourth round to play with Chelsea.


The Football League, which is organizing the competition, announced in a statement, "The match that was scheduled for Tuesday 22nd September between Leyton Orient and Tottenham was not held after Waltham Forest City Council issued an order prohibiting its establishment, as was planned, after a number of Leyton Orient players were infected with the Covid-19 virus."


He added, "The League decided that according to Rule 5.1 of the League Cup system, and since the club was unable to fulfill its obligations to complete the match according to the council’s order, it is therefore considered a loser.


The match Orient in the fourth division with Walsall was also postponed at the weekend, as the team is subject to self-quarantine.
