Tonight, Färjestad plays the second match of the season when they meet Växjö away.
In the premiere - which was also on away ice but against Luleå - there was a 4-2 loss where Joakim Nygård was on the ice.
But on Thursday, before tonight's meeting with Växjö, the club announced on its website that they will be able to do without their perhaps biggest star.
Nygård is forced to undergo surgery after looking up an old injury in one hand.

Joakim Nygård will be gone for 4-6 weeks.
Färjestad's hope is that Nygård will have time to return to play a few matches, before moving to North America.
But the club will not act and recruit a replacement for Nygård.

We have some juniors knocking on the door, who have been involved and done some training and done well.
So in the short term, we are mainly looking at picking up players from the junior side if needed.
How big an obstacle will this operation be for Nygårds to train during these weeks?
- He could skate a couple of days after the operation, so that way he can keep going well.

But Jocke is at the same time quite easy-trained, but it must take the time it takes, Jakobsson concludes.
