FC Emmen can still play on the shirt with sex shop EasyToys for the rest of this season.

The Eredivisionist reached a provisional solution in consultation with the KNVB on Thursday.

The KNVB previously stopped the cooperation between FC Emmen and the potential main sponsor EasyToys on the basis of the regulations.

It states that a sponsor may not contradict "good taste or decency".

EasyToys is a company that sells sex toys.

FC Emmen was obviously not satisfied with the action of the KNVB and threatened to go to court to enforce a collaboration with EasyToys.

The football association then decided to talk to the residents of Drenthe again.

Initially there was no progress.

The KNVB announced on Tuesday that Emmen was not allowed to play with the name of EasyToys on the shirt until December and that the matter would be discussed at the next General Meeting of Paid Football (AVBV).

Now FC Emmen gets its way.

The KNVB has stipulated that the agreed three-year agreement between Emmen and EasyToys will be temporarily reversed to one season.

If there are no further objections to the AVBV in December, the sex shop may still remain as a sponsor for three years.

KNVB regrets commotion about shirt sponsor

Commercial director Jean-Paul Decossaux of the KNVB is satisfied with the solution.

"We regret the situation that has arisen earlier and appreciate the flexibility of club and sponsor. During the upcoming AVBV we want to discuss sponsor regulations in professional football with all clubs and take a clear position on this."

FC Emmen chairman Ronald Lubbers is especially happy with the way the discussions with the KNVB have gone.

The parties met no fewer than three times this week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).

"The talks went in such good harmony that we found a nice compromise", says Lubbers.

"After Tuesday, a mutual in-depth effort was made. This deepening and the open communication with each other led to this pragmatic solution."

Due to the conflict with the KNVB, FC Emmen played the first two league games of the season against VVV-Venlo (3-5 defeat) and PSV (2-1 loss) without a sponsor on the shirt.

The team of trainer Dick Lukkien can therefore come into action again with EasyToys on the shirt in the home game with Willem II on Sunday.
