Alexandersson, who in May suspected that she had the coronavirus, interrupted Sunday's Swedish Championships in the long distance due to disease symptoms.

- I felt completely healthy before the start but already early in the race I felt tired and lethargic.

Considering all the disease restrictions, I wanted to take the safe before the unsafe both for my own sake but also to not risk infecting someone else in the event of an illness, says the 28-year-old to Orienteringsmagasinet, who now reports that she is over the Lidingö race.

"Too high total load"

The national team orienteer Lina Strand will not start in the Lidingö race either.

She had also planned to run the shortened distance of the classic race.

- I have too high a total load right now with my own training, job and studies, says Strand.

Due to the authorities' restrictions in the corona pandemic, the Lidingö race will not be arranged as usual this year.

The exercisers have the opportunity to run their races in the different classes (from 30 to 4 kilometers) during the period 19 September – 18 October.

The men's and women's elite will run 30 and 15 kilometers on Saturday, September 26, and this year the 15-kilometer race is, for the sake of the unusual, the main class.
