Lars-Åke Lagrell was chairman of the Swedish Football Association between the years 1991 and 2012. Tommy Svensson was the national team captain for the men's national team from 1991 to 1997 and worked closely with Lagrell.

- He worked very hard, in the beginning of my time it was not the mobile that was relevant but it was fax.

Fax appeared in the middle of the night at home, because he was sitting and working around the clock.

So he worked very hard and was very knowledgeable, he says to SVT Sport.

Lars-Åke Lagrell and Tommy Svensson were both present when Sweden won the World Cup bronze in 1994.

- He was involved during the time when the great successes came and since then it has grown enormously.

So he was involved in founding those successes, says Tommy Svensson and continues:

- He did very great good for Swedish football.

He was very committed, eager and good, so he meant a lot to Swedish football.
