Manchester teams United and City had to start the league game a week later than everyone else.

United lost to Crystal Palace at home on Saturday and only here on Monday night was it time for City to play for three points in the league for the first time this season.

They went and visited Wolverhampton away and after 20 minutes, the man who last season was voted the league's best player had introduced himself.

Kevin De Bruyne sprinted past a defender along the right side of the penalty area, was hijacked and fixed a penalty - which he himself sent in goal.

Before the half was over, young talent Phil Foden increased to 2-0.

Nerve towards the end

In the second, the home team reduced to 2-1 through Raúl Jimenez and it got nervous in the match when Wolves pressed to find the way to an equalizer.

But in the final 95 minutes of play, Gabriel Jesus stayed in the penalty area and set the final score at 3-1.

Next up is an away match against West Ham for Wolverhampton while Manchester City will be visited by Leicester.
