On August 13, Petter Northug was stopped by police as he was driving over 200 kilometers per hour on a 110 road.

Police later found cocaine during a house search of the legendary ski star.

Swedish skier Frida Karlsson is sponsored by Petter Northug's eyewear brand.

- We have had contact all the time and I have decided that I will continue the collaboration with the Northug brand.

It feels good, we have had a good and close collaboration, says Karlsson to TT.

"Want to support him"

In early September, the results of the sampling showed that Northug was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol when he drove the car.

- For me, it was important that he was clean when he got in the car.

It influenced my decision, says Frida Karlsson.

How tough was it for you to make the decision to continue?

- In a way, you have to differentiate a little between person and company.

The brand is more than just Petter and we have had a very good collaboration and I enjoy them.

- But Petter is no more than human like everyone else, everyone makes mistakes.

He drove too fast and has had trouble finding the right one after he quit.

He needs help and he intends to take that help.

As a friend, I just want to support him.

Recognized a serious drug problem

Frida Karlsson says that she has also been in contact with Northug privately.

- We have had a small dialogue.

I have said that he should do what he can to find happiness and feel good again.

The picture I have received is that this was an alarm clock for him and that he really wants to make a change.

Calle Halfvarsson also collaborates with the spectacle brand and has previously announced that he will continue the collaboration.

Northug, 34, held a press conference on August 21 in which he said he was abusing and addicted to both drugs and alcohol.

Northug can be punished for speeding and for possession of drugs that the police found during the house search.
